The Symbol WS 5120 wireless switch provides an outstanding IBM eServer BladeCenter compatibility, which in turn allows rapid implementation, superior integration with wired network, and fewer components to purchase and manage. WS 5120 features Automatic Channel Selection (ACS), which allows the automatic selection of the best channel based on noise and signal properties. This reduces installation costs by eliminating the need for manual configuration of access ports. The "Wireless Virtual VLAN" support ensures broadcast traffic reaches only intended devices, thus saving battery life and improving network security. WS 5120 provides radio support for 2.4 GHz/5 GHz frequencies, direct sequence, OFDM encoding techniques and 802.11a/b/g, which enables the device to accommodate new coverage, radio types, channels and spectrum.
